When life kills your routine
At some point in the next few months, life is going to get in the way.
Work gets crazy.
Someone gets sick.
You travel.
You miss a week.
And here’s where most people blow it.
They treat a missed week like a failed program.
They stop.
They wait until things calm down.
And things never really calm down.
So they never really start again.
Here’s the framework that actually works.
The minimum effective dose.
When life is genuinely chaotic, your job isn’t to maintain the full program.
Your job is not to go to zero.
Here’s what that looks like.
Can’t make it to the gym?
Do 20 minutes at home.
Bodyweight squats, push-ups, lunges, plank.
Done.
Only have 20 minutes at the gym?
Do the two most important exercises and leave.
Heavy squat. Heavy row.
That’s a real workout.
Traveling?
Most hotel gyms have dumbbells.
Romanian deadlifts, rows, and shoulder press.
30 minutes. Done.
The point isn’t the workout.
The point is maintaining the identity.
I’m someone who trains.
Even when life is hard.
Especially when life is hard.
When you come back from a rough week having done something — you don’t have to restart.
You just pick up where you left off.
Protect the minimum.
Always.
