1. Goals Need To Be Realistic & Achievable

One of the most common reasons why people don’t achieve their resolutions is because they make resolutions that are too ambitious. For example, if someone wants to lose 30 pounds in 3 months, that’s a lofty goal that’s unlikely to be achieved in such a short period of time. People may become discouraged when they start to see little progress, and eventually give up completely. A better and more realistic goal would be 15 pounds in 3 months, which is 5 pounds per month but would also be 60 pounds in a year!

2. Lack Of Planning

It’s important to have a plan of action that outlines how you’re going to reach your goals. For example, if you want to lose 30lbs in the new year, you need to focus on healthy eating with a nutrition coach and working out 3-4 days per week with weight training. A goal without a plan is just a wish, and without a plan, it’s easy to lose focus and quit.

3. Lack of Motivation

Achieving a resolution requires dedication and hard work, and without motivation, it’s easy to become distracted and lose sight of the goal. If someone wants to lose weight, it’s important to have a strong reason why quitting is important. That could be anything from playing with your kids or grandkids to increasing energy and confidence, or looking better in a bikini while on spring break.

4. You Need Support & Help

Having a support system of coaches, friends, and family is essential for keeping motivation high and staying on track. Having a personal trainer or workout buddy can help keep you accountable and motivated.

At the end of the day, any goal worth while is going to require dedication and hard work. But by setting realistic goals, creating a plan of action, staying motivated, and having a support system, people can finally achieve the resolutions they set out to accomplish.
