I feel your pain I really do: My Back Pain Story
If you have back pain (or any pain) I’ve been exactly where you are. 6 disc bulges. A herniated disc. Pain shooting down my leg. Nights where sleep was impossible because every position hurt. Days where bending over to tie my shoes or pick up a toy felt like climbing a mountain. Sitting for more than 20 minutes was torture. Lifting my kids? Forget it. Even the smallest tasks felt impossible.
I know how isolating it is. Most people don’t talk about back pain because they feel embarrassed or weak. They think everyone else has it together, while they’re stuck in constant discomfort. But here’s the truth: back pain does not define you. And it’s not a life sentence.
I spent years trying to “wait it out,” popping painkillers, and avoiding certain movements. I thought if I rested enough, it would magically get better. It didn’t. Pain got worse. Mobility declined. Life became smaller. And frustration and fear set in.
The turning point came when I learned that the right combination of strength training, mobility, walking, sleep, nutrition, and recovery can actually rebuild your back. Not by accident. Not with shortcuts. But with knowledge, patience, and consistent effort. I learned how to strengthen the muscles that protect my spine, improve my movement patterns, and rebuild confidence in my body.
Now, I can lift my kids, play sports again, and move through life without fear of sharp, debilitating pain. I still have to be smart I can’t ignore warm-ups, recovery, or posture but my back is no longer the enemy. I control it.
This is why I built One Life Personal Training. I wanted a place where adults like us busy, overwhelmed, juggling careers and families can regain strength, confidence, and freedom of movement. Where we teach how to move smartly, strengthen the right muscles, and incorporate lifestyle habits that make a real difference.
Back pain is frustrating. It can make you feel trapped. But it doesn’t have to. You don’t have to live your life avoiding the things you love. You don’t have to accept discomfort as normal. You can rebuild strength, regain mobility, and reclaim your life and we know exactly how to help you do it.
