The 3 Strategies To Lose Weight

There are really only 3 ways to lose weight. 

1. Eat better.

2. Exercise and work out.

3. Increase non-exercise-related activity.

Number 3 is the simplest, number 1 is the most important but hardest, and number 2 gives you the body you want and desire.

1. Eat better.

You can’t outwork a bad diet. Cliche but true.

Tactic: Most diets focus on elimination and what not to eat. Do the opposite and focus on what you need to eat like protein and water.

2. Exercise and work out.

Cardio is great and necessary for a healthy heart but weight training helps build lean muscle, increases bone density, and is necessary for healthy joints, tendons, and ligaments.

Tactic: Something is better than nothing. Aim to get to the gym and lift weights at least 2x per week but other than that doing a quick bodyweight workout at home or on vacation will go a long way to improve your body composition.

3. Increase non-exercise-related activity.

We are built to move and play. 10,000 steps is a good goal to build up to if you’re not there already.

Tactic: Take the stairs or phone calls while walking.
