Will I get bulky if i lift weights?

Will I get bulky if I lift weights?

Today I want to bust a myth.

One that has kept millions of people — especially women — away from lifting weights for decades.

“If I lift weights, I’ll get bulky.”

I hear this constantly.

And I understand where it comes from.

But it’s not true.

Getting bulky is super hard.

It requires years of very specific training.

A massive calorie surplus.

And for many people, chemical assistance.

It doesn’t happen by accident.

Here’s what actually happens when most adults start lifting.

You lose body fat.

Your body becomes more toned and defined.

You get stronger without necessarily getting bigger.

Your posture improves.

You feel more capable and confident.

Take Karen for example.

Karen came to us at 38 terrified of the weights.

“I don’t want to look like a bodybuilder,” she told me.

Eighteen months later she’s stronger than she’s ever been.

Leaner than she was in her 20s.

And she tells every woman she knows to stop avoiding heavy weights.

“I just look like a better version of myself,” she said.

That’s what lifting actually does.

It doesn’t make you bigger.

It’s what gives you the toned look most people want.

If this myth has been holding you back — let it go (like Elsa for my parents).

Happy lifting,

Tim
