Myth: You can target where you lose weight or burn fat.
Fact: Working out can reduce bodyfat overall but you can’t target where that bodyfat or weight loss comes from.
A common mistake we see many beginners make is believing that performing a ton of ab exercises will result in fat loss in the stomach or a more toned midsection. This goes for all parts of the body but we know this not to be true. Ab exercises are great and they’ll definitely strengthen your stomach and core but they won’t help shed the extra cushion in those areas! Genetically, all of us carry different levels of bodyfat in different body parts. So, when we’re exercising and following a nutrition program to lose weight, we’ll also lose fat in different areas too!
